Having nominated St George’s Crypt as charity of the year, Aaron Henning, Praesumo Partner, has teamed up with his friend, John Penn to take on the huge challenge of the Rat Race Coast to Coast to boost the funds raised for the charity.
Aaron and John have known each other for over 20 years and having met playing rugby together and always up for a challenge, the pair have been threatening to do something big like this for some time now. So with Aaron’s new fundraising goal for Praesumo in mind, they’ve taken the plunge and signed up to the epic challenge in order to raise money for two charities – Children With Cancer UK and St George’s Crypt.
The Rate Race Coast To Coast weekend is a 150 mile challenge that will see them run, ride and kayak across the Scottish Highlands! Over two days, they will take on the biggest physical challenge of their lives whilst taking in the stunning sights of Cawdor Castle, Loch Ness, Glen Nevis and Glen Coe, to name but a few! Famed for its tough terrain and extreme weather, their journey over the weekend will push them to the limit.
The gruelling challenge is all for two great causes and training for it has already begun! A keen cyclist and having previously completed a couple of triathlons, John is set for the challenge, and having done something similar (but a very long time ago!) Aaron has a certain idea of what lies ahead. Speaking about the preparation and their participation, Aaron said ‘This really is going to be a tough challenge, but one we are well and truly committed to. I’m looking forward to the weekend, but I’m slightly nervous about the 150 miles we are going to complete on foot, bike and in the water! I’m in no doubt as to how tough it will be, but knowing we are putting ourselves to the test in aid of two great charities will spur us on’.
