Praesumo is delighted to name St George’s Crypt as their charity of the year for 2018.
St George’s Crypt is a Leeds-based charity that works with homeless and vulnerable adults providing immediate care and support, food and accommodation. In doing this, they run a recovery programme, engagement activities and skills training in order to ensure those accessing the service have the tools needed to make the positive change they need. Working with homeless and vulnerable adults in Leeds, they encounter service users with multiple and complex needs including addiction, mental health, learning difficulties, poverty, unemployment and homelessness. All of the services provided work towards employability and transformation.
When deciding which charity to work with, St George’s Crypt was an obvious choice for Praesumo. Working in Leeds city centre, the need for the services provided by those such as St George’s Crypt is evident.
Aaron Henning, Praesumo Partner, said ‘I have the greatest respect for the work carried out by St George’s Crypt. Their actions and the service they provide delivers a great recovery programme for those in need. Daily, on my way to and from the office, I often see and interact with numerous vulnerable adults in need of help and support. It is clear to that homeless and vulnerable adults in Leeds are in great need for organisations such as theirs and we are delighted to be able to commit to not only raising money for them but also raising the profile of their work and supporting with hands-on help’.
In order to support St George’s Crypt, throughout 2018 Praesumo have committed to donate a percentage of recruitment placements to their fundraising target which will greatly boost the much-needed funds of the charity. They will also be carrying out a variety of fundraising activities within the team and with clients. The work they are carrying out for the charity will also not all be financially focused as they hope to organise and run food and clothing collections during the Easter and Harvest periods as well as establishing corporate volunteering days.
The money raised throughout the year will help St George’s Crypt to continue the excellent level of provision they deliver to those accessing the service. Praesumo are inspired by the prospect of supporting an organisation that offers the people of Leeds advice, care and support, food and accommodation when they need it the most.
